All About Montana Rose Equine Therapy

girl and her horse

My name is Ciarra Olson, I am the owner of and an equine bodyworker for Montana Rose Equine Therapy. I have always had a passion and love for horses. While growing up I rode any horse I had the opportunity to until I turned 16 and rescued my first horse, Trexx. Trexx was a little bit of a "problem child". I was always calling the vet to come and check on him but never finding an answer or solution to an ongoing lameness issue. At one point I was advised to put him down because I was told he would never be sound. This ignited something inside of me; I could not give up on this horse that I had rescued. Even if that solution meant he would never be ridden again, but could be maintained and exist pain-free and sound in the pasture. That is when my equine body working journey began.

In 2017 I graduated from Lake Superior College's massage therapy program, with over 750 hours of training, becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist and have since worked along-side multiple chiropractors and natural health practitioners.

After working in the massage industry for a time, I stared to incorporate massage into Trexx's monthly regimen and saw significant improvements. I wanted to pursue Equine Sports Massage Training and attended a program in 2020 through Therasage EMC. This program really helped open my eyes to the world of equine bodywork and I have since taken additional courses through Therasage EMC, Angels Animals LLC, and Sozo Equine, thus adding Kinesiology Taping and Cold Laser Therapy to my practice.

My Equine Bodyworker Certifications:

  • Certified Equine Sport Massage Therapist

  • Certified Equine Kinesiology Taping Practitioner

  • Certified Holistic Equine Nutritionist

I am continuing to expanding my knowledge about horses to be able to bring you the best care I can.
